Applications

For the baby:

  • Preheating crib/bassinet: Use the pad to warm up your baby’s sleeping environment, making the crib or bassinet comfortable and cozy.

For the mother:

  • Breastfeeding support: Applying warmth to the chest stimulates milk production, which can be essential during the breastfeeding period.
  • Relief of muscle pain: The pad provides relief from common pregnancy discomforts, such as lower back pain.

Using the Heating Pad

In the Microwave:

  1. Remove the cherry pit bag from its cover.
  2. Sprinkle the bag with water. It should be slightly moist; a bit too moist is better than too dry.
  3. Place the bag on a clean plate or oven-safe dish in the microwave. Note: Do not use metal parts or racks.
  4. Ensure the bag does not come into contact with food residues, as these can become very hot and cause scorch marks on the fabric.
  5. Heat the bag (without cover) for 30-45 seconds at a maximum of 600W, while supervising. If your microwave does not have a turntable, note that some areas may heat more than others. Shake the bag occasionally to ensure even temperature distribution and prevent overheating in one spot.
  6. After removing from the microwave, the cherry pit bag may continue to warm slightly. Wait a minute and test the temperature with the inside of your wrist. It should feel lukewarm (max. 40°C), not hot.
  7. Place the bag back in the cover. Always use it in the cover and never directly on a baby's bare skin.
  8. Note: If reheating, allow the bag to fully cool to room temperature first.

In the Oven:

  1. Preheat the oven to a temperature between 80–100°C.
  2. Remove the cherry pit bag from its cover and sprinkle it with water. It should be slightly moist; a bit too moist is better than too dry.
  3. Place the bag on a clean plate or oven-safe dish in the oven. Note: Do not use metal parts, racks, or baking trays.
  4. Ensure the bag does not come into contact with food residues, as these can become very hot and cause scorch marks on the fabric.
  5. Heat for 10 minutes, shaking the bag occasionally.
  6. After removing from the oven, the bag may continue to warm slightly. Wait a minute and test the temperature with the inside of your wrist. It should feel lukewarm (max. 40°C), not hot.

Cooling Instructions:

  1. Place the cherry pit bag (inside the cover) in a sealed freezer bag.
  2. Leave it in the refrigerator or freezer for at least 1.5 hours.
  3. The bag can remain in the freezer for an extended period and is ready for immediate use when needed.
  4. Note: If you wish to reheat the bag after cooling, ensure it returns to room temperature first.

Washing Instructions

Cherry Pit Bag:

  • Preferably hand wash without detergent.

For Machine Washing:

  1. Soak the bag in a bowl of water for 30 minutes to hydrate the pits.
  2. Place the bag in a laundry bag and wash at 30°C without detergent or fabric softener.
  3. After washing, place the bag on a dry towel to absorb excess moisture. You can also place the towel with the bag on a radiator to speed up the drying process, shaking occasionally, even when completely dry.

Covers:

  • Jersey, rib, bamboo: Wash at a maximum of 30°C.
  • Merino wool: Often, airing is sufficient. For washing, use a wool wash program or hand wash with wool detergent. For stains, use liquid gall soap. Moisten a cotton cloth, apply soap, dampen the stain, rub gently, and rinse with cold water. Pat dry, do not wring, and lay flat to dry away from heat sources.
  • Storage: Store wool covers in a sealed bag to prevent moths.
Note: Do not use a dryer for either the cherry pit bag or the covers.
